Quick Start Guide
Welcome to Calanar! This guide will help you set up your workspace and get your first financial intelligence report generated.
Prerequisite Checklist
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- Admin access to your company bank account (or Plaid credentials).
- Read-only access to your paid marketing channels (Google Ads, Meta Ads).
- Your target monthly burn rate (optional, but helpful).
Step 1: Connect your Financial Data
The core of Calanar is the Runway Engine. To calculate this accurately, we need read-only access to your transaction history.
- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- Click Connect Bank.
- Select your provider (e.g., Silicon Valley Bank, Mercury, or Brex).
💡 Pro Tip
Security Note: Calanar uses Plaid for secure, read-only access. We never store your banking login credentials or have the ability to move funds.
Step 2: Define your Burn Threshold
Once your data is connected, Calanar will automatically calculate your trailing 3-month average burn.
- Gross Burn: Total cash leaving the bank.
- Net Burn: Total cash leaving minus total revenue entering.
If our auto-calculation looks off (e.g., due to a one-time large expense), you can manually adjust the "Excluded Transactions" filter in the Dashboard settings.
Step 3: View your Health Score
Navigate to the Overview Dashboard. You should now see your Financial Health Score (0-100). This score is a composite of your runway, burn efficiency, and growth metrics.
