Connecting Google Ads
Connecting your Google Ads account allows Calanar to automatically pull daily spend data and match it against your revenue to calculate your True CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost).
Automatic Connection (Recommended)
- Log in to Calanar and navigate to the Growth Engine tab.
- Click the Google Ads card.
- A popup will appear asking for OAuth permission. Click "Sign in with Google".
- Select the Google Account that manages your ads.
- Crucial Step: Ensure you check the box that says "View your Google Ads data".
💡 Pro Tip
Multiple Accounts? If you manage multiple ad accounts (MCC), Calanar will ask you to select which specific sub-account you want to link to this workspace after you authenticate.
Verifying the Data
Data sync usually takes 15-30 minutes for the initial historical import.
To verify the connection:
- Wait 15 minutes.
- Go to Reports > Marketing Performance.
- Check if the "Ad Spend" column is populated for the current month.
Troubleshooting
"No Data Found" Error
If you see this error, it usually means your Google Ads account has no spend in the last 30 days. Calanar defaults to showing the last 30 days of activity.
Permissions Error
If the connection fails, ensure your Google User has "Standard" or "Admin" access to the Google Ads account. "Read-only" users may occasionally face sync delays.
